Trekking Bali Barat National Park

Bali Barat National Park covers a vast area and is divided into 7 regions with 4 types of forests: mangrove forest, tropical rainforest, lowland forest, and savanna forest. In this regard, we offer 3 options for trekking activities based on the regions visitors wish to explore, ensuring that they can witness what they desire.

Bali Myna
1. Short trekking West Bali National Park 2.5 hours

Departure 7 – 9 AM or 3 PM

The trek begins at the park’s entrance at Jayaprana parking lot, where visitors are greeted by friendly guides who provide essential information about the park’s history and ecology. 

We will start exploring the mangrove forests in the West Bali National Park, there are 21 clans and 28 types of mangroves, which represents about 11.5% of all Indonesian mangrove plants, among others are Avicennia marina ( Api-api ), Lumnitzera racemosa Willd, Euphorbiaceae (Buta-buta) mangroves are a habitat for Kingfisher birds and monitor lizard mammals. 

Passing through the mangrove forest we will see the Bali starlings after that we will go through a small river where the water only flows in the rainy season, this type of monsoon forest has several large trees which are the habitat of several types of birds, gray monkeys and endemic West Bali National Park fauna “ black monkeys” ( Ebony leaf monkyes )

4 HOURS TREKKING SAVANNA FOREST / TELUK BRUMBUN WEST BALI NATIONAL PARK

Departure 6 AM duration -5 hours

Brumbun Bay is an area of West Bali National Park that is used as a breeding ground for Bali starlings.

Teluk Brumbun is located on the Prapat Agung coastal peninsula, a place rarely visited by tourists. The only way to reach Teluk Brumbun is by taking a traditional boat or Jukung for approximately 25 minutes. The typical forest type in Teluk Brumbun is a savannah forest.

The journey will begin by exploring the mangrove forest, which serves as a habitat for water birds such as the Kingfisher.

Black Monkeys

After arriving at Teluk Brumbun, the trekking will commence from Kotal Beach to the Teluk Brumbun Resort. During the journey, our guide will explain various types of trees and animals found in Teluk Brumbun. The distance from Kotal Beach to Teluk Brumbun Resort is approximately 3 km.

In Teluk Brumbun, it is relatively easy to spot protected species of animals and plants in this national park, including: Bali Starling Birds/ Bali Myna, Wild deers, Ebony Leaf Monkeys/ Black Monkeys, Wild Pig, Green Junglefowls, and some types of birds.

During this journey, our guide will explain the various types of mangroves growing in the area while providing information about the habitat and life of the animals inhabiting the mangrove forest. This trip it is recommended to be at either in morning around 6 a.m., providing an opportunity to witness the sunrise, or in the evening around 3 p.m.

6-7 HOURS LONG TREKKING RAIN FOREST

Trip starts in the morning pick up 05:30 in Pemuteran or Menjangan area transfer to Sumberklampok Village about 20 minutes. This trip will pass through 2 types of forest: monsoon forest and low land rain forest. The track follows a small river with large trees that are still very natural. The number of encountered animals is relatively low, but you will learn a lot about tropical forest vegetation.
