Pemuteran Beach offers beautiful black sandy beach with crystal clear water and stunning sunset or sunrise. The Pemuteran Marine Park established in 2000 by Yayasan Karang Lestari, in corporates ann innovative technology called Biorock.

A low voltages electric current applied to un underwater steel skeletal structure to stimulate the growth of coral reef and coral life.

The outcome is remarkable: corral growth occurs at rate 2 -6 times faster than that naturally occurring corals, boasting a survival rate 16 -50 times higher, even in the face of elevated water temperature.

Diving Pemuteran

As of today Pemuteran Marine park boasts over 70 thriving coral reefs, teeming with abundant biodiversity and flourishing ecosystem.

This growing marine coral garden creates a habitat for a variety of marine life. Pemuteran Marine Park has become popular destinations for diving and one of the word’s leading examples of educational tourism based on sustainable tourism principles.

Diving Spots in Pemuteran

1. Biorock Pemuteran

( Shored dive – Minimum Level Open water ) Biorock is an award winning dive site. The Pemuteran Community reconstructs the reef using electricity and steel cages. Good for refresh, Open Water course and night dive

ANIMALS : Nudibranch, longfin bannerfish, jawfish, pufferfish, moorish idol, surgeonfish, anemonefish, etc…

2. Jetty ( Shored dive – Minimum Level Advanced )

Jetty is a muck site. There you can fin all the wierd creatures that live on sandy bottom. It is located in front of the fisherman’s village. Good for day and night dives

ANIMALS : Ghostpipefish, morays, devilfish, nudibranches, flounder, frogfish, lionfish, scorpionfish, shrimps, razorfish, snake eel, seahorse, etc..

1. Biorock ( Shored dive – Minimum Level Open water )

Madarin is known to see the illusive Mandarin Fish during dusk dive. It is a muck dive too. For night dive only.

ANIMALS :Mandarin fish, ghostpipefish, morays, nudibranches, flounder, lionfish, scorpionfish, special shrimps, seahorse, etc..

4. Close Encounters ( Boat – Minimum level open water )

Close Encounters is a fantastic dive site for all level. Clear water and lots of fish. It takes around 15′ by boat to reach it.

ANIMALS : Nudibranch, longfin bannerfish, jawfish, pufferfish, moorish idol, surgeonfish, anemonefish, jacks, anemone shrimp, sharks at night only, anthias, etc..

5. Deep Middle Reef ( Boat – Minimum level open water )

Deep middle reef is the closes offshore site and the only wall-like in Pemuteran. Good for day and night dives. It takes 5′ boat ride to reach it

6. Temple Wall & Garden ( Boat – Dive level Advanced )

Few years ago, a Balinese temple was sunk there and lies at 30m. An interesting site to see the electric shell. It take 8′ by boat to reach it.

ANIMALS : Nudibranch, longfin bannerfish, jawfish, pufferfish, moorish idol, surgeonfish, anemonefish, jacks, anemone shrimp,electic shell, anthias, etc…

7. Biowreck (Boat – Dive level Advanced )

Biowreck is an artificial reef but it is offshore and is power by solar panels.It has a fantastic coral bummy and a nice reef next to it..

8. Deep Reef (Gede's Reef) (Boat – Dive level Advanced )

Deep reef is between Close Encounter and Napoleon. Nice Seafan there and lots of nudibranch. It takes 15′ bay boat to reach it.
